results

speed up flow times by 50%

increasing the channel shift rate from staffed to self-checkout terminal by 20%

educed tap error rate by 80%

The Kissa.AI self-checkout system had low user adoption because customers found it unfamiliar and preferred cashiers. Long queues during peak times worsened the issue

The goal was to create a clear, engaging, and fast interface that users would want to use and return to, increasing adoption and reducing wait times

challenge

identical operational controls differ across screens

portion size toggle is unclear

back button replaces a one-click “recognize again”

no option to view the full dish list with prices

difficulty making item replacements

lack of a search function in the menu

incorrect recognition of dishes

half portions detection issues

unresponsive screens, leading to frustration

prioritised survey revealed product issues where more saturated = more critical

process

I сonducted survey and identified 5 main issues users had with product

Created 3D animation and illustrations and prepared all assets for development

Led brainstorming sessions with the client, designing a new, more intuitive navigation system
